Rules

Welcome to the FlameSMP! In order to keep our network safe and enjoyable for everyone, we require all users follow the rules we have set in place at all times. All rules are non-negotiable, and are enforced at the discretion of our moderation team.
By joining our Minecraft or Discord server, you agree to abide by all relevant rules and acknowledge that breaking any of these rules will result in punishment, up to permanent removal from the server.

If you have received a punishment, you can appeal any punishment on our Support Discord.

Common Sense Policy:

• In addition to the rules listed below, we expect all users to act with common sense on our network.
• "What does that mean?"
  • Do not try to avoid punishments on "technicalities" or try to find loopholes to exploit.
  • Do not argue with staff about what violates a rule, as they are the ones trained to enforce them according to our policies.
  • Claiming to be actively breaking a rule or having intent to do so is treated as discussion of said rule.
  • If you're deemed to be acting in a way that is obviously detrimental to the server or it's members, you will be punished for it.
  • If you're unsure if something is allowed or not, it's probably best to avoid it. You can always make a General Support ticket on our Discord to ask, our staff will be happy to answer it.

Notes:

• All players on our Minecraft server must abide by the Minecraft EULA at all times.
• All members of our Discord must abide by Discord's Terms of Service at all times.

Chat Rules:

The following content is not allowed in any channel or section of our network (including Minecraft and Discord).

Profile contents on Discord will also be subjected to these rules. This includes avatars, banners, usernames, nicknames, about me/bios, statuses, and guild tags.

1. Spam
   • Any form of spamming is disallowed. This includes:
     • Character Spamming
     • Repeated Messages
     • Chat Flooding
     • Command Spamming
2. Punishment Discussion
   • Do not discuss past or current punishments, whether your own or those of other players.
   • If you've been punished unfairly, please appeal following the instructions at the top of this page.
3. Inappropriate Discussion
   • Do not initiate or participate in discussions provoking controversy/hostility, concerning sensitive subjects.
4. NSFW Content
   • Any messages considered 'NSFW' are disallowed.
   • This includes any content that is graphic, violent, sexual, illicit/illegal, or obscene.
5. Non-English Content
   • All messages must be written in English. This is to allow our staff team to properly moderate chat.
6. Excessive Toxicity
   • Excessive and/or repeated language or acts that are meant to harass, abuse, harm, or attack others are disallowed.
   • This includes encouraging self-harm from another user.
7. Threatening Language
   • Any serious threats made towards another user, or that which is related to them, are disallowed.
8. Discriminatory Language
   • Any remarks or terms meant to discriminate, insult, or alienate others are disallowed (including any slurs).
   • This includes (but is not limited to) discrimination based on disabilities, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
9.  Endangerment
   • Any attempts to endanger another user are completely prohibited.
   • This includes acts such as:
     • Doxxing (searching for/revealing private information about another user without their consent, with the intention of being malicious)
       • This includes (but is not limited to): Full names, home/workplace addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, financial details, employment/education details, photos/videos, or information about relatives.
     • DDoSing (attempting to attack another user's network connection to render it inaccessible)
     • Swatting (making false reports to dispatch local authorities to another user's location)
   • Any discussions/threats of these will be punished the same way, including "jokes".
10. Staff Impersonation
    • Impersonating a staff member is disallowed, including trying to convince others that you are staff.
11. Advertising
    • Any form of advertising content that is not related to FlameFrags or our network is disallowed.
    • The only exception to this is for Media/Creators that have been given explicit permission to share other content by administration.

Gameplay Rules:

The following content/actions are not allowed on our Minecraft network.

1. Bug/Glitch Abuse
   • Attempting to or actively abusing any unintended interactions.
   • This includes "block glitching" (spam placing ghost blocks) in combat areas, accessing normally inaccessible areas, phasing into/through blocks or structures, etc.
   • If you discover a bug/glitch, please report it immediately by submitting a Bug Report ticket in our Discord.
2. Unfair Advantages
   • Any clients, client modifications, programs, or applications that give the player an unfair advantage over other players are disallowed.
   • This includes having these enabled while on our server, even if you are not actively using them.
   • You can view a list of examples of what are considered unfair advantages here.
3. Unfairly Escaping PvP [Survival]
   • Escaping combat by getting into inaccessible areas, pearling into walls, or by any other means is disallowed.
   • This occurs when a user escapes their attacker unfairly to wait out their combat timer, in order to avoid combat logging.
4. Intentionally Stalling Matches [Duels]
   • Any form of purposely stalling or prolonging duels matches for over a minute. This includes but is not limited to:
     • Continuously running away from opponents
     • Digging/boxing yourself in
     • Usage or abuse of unintentional game design
5. Punishment Evasion
   • Circumventing any punishments given by staff is disallowed.
   • This includes using alternate accounts while another account of yours is punished.
6. Entrapment
   • Any attempts to coerce others into breaking rules are disallowed.
     
7. Server Disruption
   
   • Attempting to negatively impact server performance (ex.: creating lag machines), or duplicating items/currency/valuables is disallowed.
   • Any discussions/threats of these will be punished the same way, including "jokes".
8. Inappropriate Content
   • Any content that violates other rules is disallowed.
   • This includes builds, item names, usernames, and skins.
